John Bender recorded voraciously between 1978 and 1980 at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. I Don't Remember Now / I Don't Want To Talk About It, his first album from 1980, is the holy grail of minimal lo-fi electronics. Layers of fractured melodies, distorted synthesizers, hollowed-out rhythms and claustrophobic vocals unfold over the course of Bender's brilliantly angular constructions. After three decades shrouded in self-imposed mystery, the artist has recently begun performing live in the US and Europe. With this special event in San Francisco, Bender will be making his West Coast debut.

Jon Leidecker has been producing music under the name Wobbly since 1990, improvising with recordings to produce music which inherently resists the act of being captured. Recent performances deploy a battery of mobile devices driven by their built-in microphones, reacting instantly with error-prone variations on the notes and sounds they believe they are hearing: a tightly-knit orchestra with inhuman reflexes, resulting in structures which the human performer influences more than controls. Your phone is an instrument, and your phone is always listening. Wobbly's live and studio collaborations with Negativland, Dieter Moebius & Tim Story, Matmos, Fred Frith, John Oswald, Thomas Dimuzio, Huun-Huur-Tu, Sagan and the Freddy McGuire Show compliment live mix media collages broadcast twice a month on KPFA FM's Over The Edge radio program.
