German producer Stefan Betke's work under the name Pole is some of the most captivating electronic music of the last quarter century. Betke named the project after his Waldorf 4-Pole analog filter which started producing hissing, anomalous tones after he dropped and damaged it – a case of innovation through serendipity.
Long out of print on vinyl, Pole's first three records (appropriately titled 1, 2, and 3) would ignite an entire new guard in the dubby, ambient scene and with low end that will rattle your cage.
