Listening today to the production of Sensations 'Fix – a musical project founded and directed by Franco Falsini in the '70s – cannot leave one indifferent. In the mid-60s, Falsini was already involved full-time in musical activities: tireless traveler and experimenter, an artist with unusual curiosity and intuition. After having lived for a long time in the US and England, he once again settled in Italy and gave shape to Sensations' Fix, with whom he signed a contract with Polydor for the publication of six records in five years. Often associated with the sounds of Tangerine Dream and the so-called German "cosmic couriers," Sensations' Fix were much more than mere clones of already existing formations.

Portable Madness (along with an eponymous LP and Fragments of Light) - is one of the three titles released in 1974 alone and can be considered the first true fruit of the group's collective activity. A fully instrumental disc, conceived as the sum of two long suites (one on each side), dominated by keyboards and synthesizers, and also characterized by an energetic and pulsating rhythm section. Published today, with an adequate production, an album like this we would find among the leading titles of the psychedelic scene and beyond. In addition to not receiving adequate support from the record label, it was not understood for what it actually was: avant-garde and precursor with respect to the context in which it was made.

Sensations' Fix records are generally difficult to find; almost none of them has been reprinted in over forty years, but thanks to this series of reprints on Vinyl Magic, it is now possible to rediscover them all. This edition of Portable Madness is the first ever reissue in LP format, colored vinyl with a splatter effect.
