Nothing New is an album of recordings that Gil Scott-Heron and Richard Russell made in New York during the sessions for I'm New Here. It is comprised of songs that Gil chose from his back catalogue, just voice and piano. Each song he chose was from a different album of his. He carefully curated the selection, so this album serves as an excellent introduction to his previous output. Originally released for RSD 2014 as a limited edition of 2,000 copies with silk screen covers, this has now been repressed on black vinyl as a companion piece to the current Gil Scott Heron Makaya McCraven release.
