Anne Briggs' Sing A Song For You was recorded in 1973, a few weeks before the birth of her second child, while still under contract with CBS. The record was held back at the time due to Anne's unhappiness with her singing, and she also recalls “Indeed it was hard work at the time being so pregnant - hard to find sufficient breadth, and hard to play the bouzouki, with its’ convex bellied back pressing into my convex bellied front, my arms seemed barely long enough to reach over to the strings and fingerboard”. The album was finally released on CD by Fledg’ling Records in 1996, and is the only instance of Anne recording together with a band.
