Regarded as one of the finest albums by the German collective Popol Vuh helmed by musical visionary Florian Fricke, 1975’s Einsjager & Siebenjager took its title from mythological characters in the Mayan manuscripts from which the band took its name.
Recorded in Munich it features Florian Fricke (piano), Daniel Fichelscher (guitars, percussion), Djong Yun (vocals) and guest flautist Olaf Kubler.
Comprising five shorter pieces on its first side and the impressive, evocative side-long title track, the album is one of the most beautiful albums released by Popol Vuh and is a fine example of their flowing compositional genius.
