The series revival of Mark Frost and David Lynch's cult television show Twin Peaks premiered Showtime with a new intro, courtesy of long-time Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti. As always, music plays a big role in Lynch's universe, and all of this will be split across two soundtracks as Twin Peaks (Music From The Limited Event Series) and Twin Peaks (Limited Event Series Original Soundtrack).

Both soundtracks feature music from original Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti. Throughout the third season of Twin Peaks, David Lynch featured numerous acts performing at the Bang Bang Bar (aka The Roadhouse), with Music From The Limited Event Series collecting all of those tracks. During the premier, The Chromatics provided a teasing glimpse into their ever-delayed forthcoming album in a track called "Shadow." Trouble (featuring former Dirty Beaches auteur Alex Zhang Hungtai), Au Revoir Simone, The Cactus Blossoms and Nine Inch Nails were a few of the bands to pass through that fictional venue with other acts to be announced as the season draws to an end.
